A 12-year-old boy, identified as Charan from Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Nizampet, drowned while swimming in Bachupally Lake on Sunday. Bachupally police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem and registered a case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

HYDERABAD: A 12-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Bachupally Lake in Quthbullapur on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Charan, a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Nizampet and a student of fifth standard.
According to police, the boy had gone to the lake for a swim when he accidentally drowned. On receiving information, Bachupally police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
