Khammam, Warangal police hold anti-drug rallies on International Day

Police in Khammam and Warangal organised anti-drug rallies on Friday to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The officials urged youth to stay away from narcotics, stressing their role in nation-building and warning against the dangers of addiction.

Khammam, Warangal police hold anti-drug rallies on International Day

Khammam/Warangal: Anti-drug rallies have been organised by police in Khammam and Warangal police commissionerates to mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Friday.

In Khammam, district Collector Divakara TS, Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt and Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya took part in an awareness rally. Addressing the gathering the Collector urged the youth to avoid falling prey to harmful addictions and to remain vigilant.


The official emphasised the crucial role of youth in nation-building and noted that both the Central and State governments were taking special measures and allocating substantial funds to create employment opportunities for them.

The CP said the police department was striving toward the goal of eradicating drug abuse and creating a ganja-free society. He urged the public to immediately report any instances of the sale of ganja, drugs, or other intoxicants, as well as any illegal activities to the police.

In Warangal, Commissioner of Police Sunpreeth Singh along with MLAs Naini Rajender Reddy and KR Nagaraju; Warangal and Hanamkonda district Collectors Dr. Satya Sharada and Chahat Bajpai and the KUDA chairman Enagala Venkatrami Reddy took part in the 2K run.

Speaking on the occasion, the CP stated that drug abuse has become a major problem in society. He urged youth and students to stay away from drugs, warning that a single instance of use could plunge their lives into darkness.

He specifically advised them to avoid getting into trouble by engaging in the sale or consumption of narcotics, asserting that students should focus solely on their studies and strive to achieve their high aspirations.
