Uncertainty deepens over Metro Phase-II after Revanth Reddy’s Delhi visit

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s two-day visit to New Delhi to resolve Metro Phase I takeover issue is turning contentious with many questions popping up on the outcome.

Apart from the appointment of SBICAPS as the new consultant, concerns are being raised over Metro Phase II. This comes in the wake of SBICAPS being entrusted with the task of studying the valuation of Phase I, raising required loans for takeover and more importantly, studying Metro Phase II expansion, construction cost and financing.

Compounding matters further, the State and Central governments will decide the future course of action based on SBICAPS report.

Considering all these factors, apart from the likely delay in Phase I takeover, uncertainty looms large over the future of Metro Phase II as well. Concerns are being expressed over the time to approve the Phase I takeover and accord permissions for Phase II.

Meanwhile, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said over the last two days, he facilitated meetings for the Chief Minister with Union Ministers in New Delhi.

“The meetings took place in a conducive atmosphere. As a representative of Telangana in the Union Cabinet, I will always strive for Telangana’s development and welfare,” he said in a post on X.
