A sub‑inspector attached to Gandhinagar police station in Hyderabad was trapped by the Anti‑Corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from an accused person promising bail.

Gandhinagar police station SI trapped by ACB while taking bribe

Hyderabad: A Sub-Inspector of police working at Gandhinagar police station was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh and accepted payment of Rs 50,000 on Tuesday.

According to the ACB officials, the sub inspector, V Narsimhulu demanded the amount from a person, who is cited as an accused in a case, to issue station bail and not to harass him in the future.


On a complaint, the ACB registered a case against him and caught him red‑handed when he accepted the amount. He was produced before the local ACB court in the city.
