AICC in‑charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan accused the BJP of attempting to replicate its West Bengal election strategy in Telangana and Punjab by deleting pro‑Congress votes during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Sangareddy: AICC in-charge of Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring to replicate the assembly elections results of West Bengal in Telangana and Punjab by removing the pro Congress votes during Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters in these two states.
Addressing the Congress booth level party agents (BLAs) of Andole constituency in Jogipet on Tuesday, Natarajan said that BJP was trying to remove the votes of people who were born and brought up in India.
Utilising the SIR, she said that BJP had won the election in West Bengal by removing 30 lakh votes. Natarajan said that there were instances of booth level officers (BLOs) removing the voters of farmers which they also wanted to replicate here.
The AICC incharge of State called upon the party agents to keep a close watch when the booth level officers visited the houses of voters under their purview. Natarajan further accused the BJP of acting undemocratically in Madhya Pradesh to deny her nomination for Rajya Sabha. She said that the role of booth level party agents would be key to protect the votes of Congress during the SIR.
Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha called upon the booth level agents of Congress to educate the voters to keep the documents that would be needed when the booth level officers turn up at their residences.
He also asked the Congress cadres to coordinate with party agents until the entire revision of votes is completed. TPCC President B Mahesh Goud, Party working president T Jagga Reddy and others were present.
