COVA invites youth across SAARC nations for video competition

Hyderabad-based COVA has launched a video competition for youth aged 13 to 30 from eight SAARC countries. Participants can create videos on cultural and technological connections across Southasia, with winners from each country receiving cash awards and certificates.

COVA invites youth across SAARC nations for video competition

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-based Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA) has called for entries from youth from eight SAARC countries for videos on connecting Southasia through Culture and Tech, as part of its second Southasian Commemoration of Doyens of Peace, a press release on Monday said.

Youngsters between 13 and 30 years can make a video of 5 minutes or less on the topic ‘Digital Stages – Shared Heritage: Youth Connecting Southasia through Culture and Tech’ and win prizes.


Youngsters from 8 South Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Srilanka can make videos in any South Asian Language with English Subtitles.

The content of videos can be plays, skits, narratives, poetry, interviews, etc or youngsters can reach out to youth from other countries to co-create a video together. The COVA Network will also help the youngsters from different countries to collaborate. The top video of each country will get a cash Award equivalent to Rs 15,000, Executive Director, COVA Peace Network, Dr Mazher Hussain said.

All entries will be awarded certificates, and the last date to submit the videos is July 27, 2026.
