Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao called upon students to take inspiration from former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao’s life and achievements, describing him as a role model whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

During a visit to the Swami Ramananda Tirtha Memorial School in Begumpet on Thursday, he distributed notebooks and school bags to students and inaugurated a mid-day meal programme being run under the Talasani Trust. He later interacted with students and joined them for lunch.

Addressing the gathering, Rama Rao recalled PV Narasimha Rao’s scholarly accomplishments and pointed out that the former Prime Minister, who mastered 16 languages, left an indelible mark on India and the world. He urged students to set high goals and strive for excellence by following Narasimha Rao’s example.

Recalling initiatives undertaken during the previous BRS government, he referred to the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme launched under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and numerous other initiatives introduced to strengthen the education sector. He stressed the importance of ensuring both quality education and nutritious food for students.

On the occasion, he assured support for the school’s development, including the construction of additional classrooms and a modern library.

MLC Surabhi Vani Devi emphasised the importance of nutrition in a child’s overall development and said education remained the most effective tool for overcoming poverty. Recalling her father PV Narasimha Rao’s commitment to education, she said his vision had contributed to the growth of residential and Navodaya school systems in the country.
