Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A couple was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Kosara hamlet near Thumpalli village on Wednesday night. Family members alleged that the two were murdered by unidentified persons.
Police said that the deceased couple, Banoth Raju and Sunitha from Bhavaninagar in the hamlet, were found dead at their residence. Raju’s daughter-in-law alerted her husband Anil after she failed to wake up Sunitha when she wanted her mother-in-law to look after her daughter early in the morning. Anil then approached the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem.
After the post-mortem, police primarily suspected that the couple might have been smothered to death by unidentified persons from the hamlet due to previous enmity. The couple had differences with some locals over worshipping the idol of Prophet Mohammed’s grandson Hussain during Muharram in 2025. Based on a complaint lodged by Anil, a murder case was registered. An investigation has been taken up.
