Hyderabad: Tesla here on Wednesday launched its first experience centre at Knowledge City, Hitec City, offering a new 2026 Model Y, a premium rear wheel drive, and Model Y L. This is the fifth experience centre in the country.

Customers can now order the cars via the Tesla website and delivery will commence from July 2026. After sales services have been made available in the Bollaram Industrial Area.

Visitors can explore and experience the new cars through guided walk rounds by Tesla advisors at the centre.

The newly launched 2026 Model Y premium rear-wheel drive offers 2,138 litres of storage space with seating for up to five passengers, ample luggage capacity, and power-folding seats.

Powered by ultra-responsive motors, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and delivers a range of up to 500 km (WLTP). It is available in India at Rs.50,89,000 with a down payment of Rs. 6 lakh and monthly EMI starting from Rs. Rs.39,990.

With its three-row, six-seat configuration, the Model Y L maximises headroom, legroom, and comfort for both the driver and passengers. It offers a range of up to 681 km (WLTP), 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 5.0 seconds, and a cargo space of up to 2,539 litres. The car is available at a starting price of Rs.61,99,000 with a down payment of Rs.6,50,000 and monthly EMI starting from Rs.49,990.

Tesla India head Sharad Agarwal said the company deployed real world AI at a large scale in cars.

“All our cars collect the data for us, and then the data is deployed to give the self-driving experience to our customers. We also have a complete AI and digital experience for our customers. We have introduced our AI block inside Tesla cars in India,” he said.

Tesla, he said, offers an end-to-end business model starting from design, manufacturing, retail, delivery and after sales.

Stating that there is no maintenance schedule for Tesla cars unlike others, Agarwal said the majority of the problems could be fixed remotely.

“If we are not able to solve anything remotely, we have 24*7 mobile service available to our customers. We have more than 81,000 supercharges, which charges the car to 275 kilometres in just 15 minutes,” he added.

While there are no Tesla supercharges in Hyderabad currently, the company will soon launch them, sources said, adding that Tesla has plans to build charging infrastructure in key cities, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Chandigarh and Mumbai.
