Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad for the second consecutive day, inundating several stretches along the IT corridor and causing traffic snarls. Rajendra Nagar recorded the highest rainfall at 55 mm, while civic emergency teams were deployed to clear waterlogging and fallen trees across the city.

Hyderabad: Heavy rains struck parts of the city for the second day in a row on Saturday evening. Several key stretches along the IT corridor, such as Gachibowli, Shamshabad, Madhapur, Manikonda, Raidurg and Hitech City, were inundated with rainwater causing traffic delays and disruptions.
By 6 pm, Rajendra Nagar reported the highest rainfall at 55 millimetres followed by BHEL factory at Ramachandrapuram recording 26.3 mm of rain.
The effects of the waterlogging were also seen on the public transport system. As per reports, city buses, autos and riders were stuck in heavy traffic, leading to delays beyond scheduled timings. Passengers who had booked rides to reach railway stations and bus stations were caught in the jams.
Areas including Banjara Hills, Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills, Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Malkajgiri, Lakdi-ka-pul, Musheerabad, RTC X roads, Tarnaka, Secunderabad, Begum Bazaar, Charminar also received heavy showers.
Meanwhile, HYDRAA introduced bike teams to reach spots where trees had fallen. These bike teams, equipped with essentials such as a power saw and a rope, could reach reported tree-fall sites without delay. For waterlogged points, the teams also carry basic tools like crowbars and spades to clear blockages
The emergency response teams (ERTs) from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) were also put into operation to clear waterlogging points across the city.
