Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday met Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai who is visiting Hyderabad and sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the proposed Sammakka-Sarakka Lift Irrigation Scheme near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
The meeting was held at Park Hyatt and attended by senior Telangana irrigation department officials.
During the discussions, Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted a formal representation on behalf of the Telangana government, requesting the Chhattisgarh government to grant the required NOC for the project.
The Sammakka-Sarakka project is expected to play a key role in strengthening irrigation facilities and enhancing water security for farmers in north Telangana. The government also sought closer coordination between the two States to expedite pending approvals and facilitate the project’s progress.
