Hyderabad: The Telangana Fire Services Department has cancelled the Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued to the commercial building housing the popular Niloufer Cafe in Banjara Hills after officials reportedly detected multiple fire safety violations during a surprise inspection.

The inspection was carried out as part of a statewide drive launched following recent fire accidents that resulted in loss of lives and property.

During the inspection of the building on Road No. 12, Fire Services personnel reportedly identified several irregularities and breaches of fire safety licence conditions.

It was found that the cafe was operating a restaurant above the fourth floor without proper permits, alongside multiple irregularities in fire licence conditions.

Officials noted that in the event of a fire, the violations and blocked passages would severely endanger the lives of customers and staff. The department has directed the building management to rectify the deficiencies and comply with prescribed fire safety norms.
