Hyderabad: Burglars targeted two locked houses and made away with cash and gold ornaments worth lakhs at Dundigal on Thursday.
According to police, N Ravi, a resident near Baurampet bus station, had locked his house and gone with his wife to visit their daughter in Nizampet. Taking advantage of their absence, burglars allegedly broke open the house lock and stole around 3.5 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 50,000 in cash.
In a similar incident, burglars broke into the residence of L Bhoomaiah Goud in the same locality and decamped with Rs 1.30 lakh kept in a cupboard.
The offenders also reportedly attempted to break into two other nearby houses but were unsuccessful.
Based on the complaints, the Dundigal Police registered separate cases and are investigating.
