Peddapalli: Senior BRS leader and former Minister Koppula Eashwar demanded a CBI enquiry into the alleged disappearance of coal stocks and scams taking place in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Eashwar, along with former MLA Putta Madhukar and Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) president Miryala Raji Reddy, examined coal stocks at the Opencast-5 coal mine in the Ramagundam-I area on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Eashwar said that the future of the company had become questionable due to frequent scams allegedly taking place after the Congress government came to power. A conspiracy had been hatched to destroy the company, he alleged.
According to government statistics, 40 lakh metric tonnes of coal stocks were available across the company. In OCP-5, six lakh metric tonnes were stored. At present, 3.60 lakh metric tonnes were available.
However, he claimed that not more than 50,000 metric tonnes were available. Instead of coal, soil, pebbles and stones were found. Not only in OCP-5, a similar situation prevailed at other stock points as well, he said.
How would the government and SCCL management account for the coal stocks that were not available, he questioned. It showed the government’s negligence in protecting public property, he said.
Irregularities were taking place in Singareni under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, he alleged.
The BRS leader, therefore, demanded a CBI enquiry into the alleged disappearance of coal stocks as well as the scams taking place in the company.
