Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Residents staged a sit-in on the national highway 363 (NH-363) protesting against official apathy in repairing a road damaged by vehicles carrying soil at Ganeshapur village in Wankidi mandal on Thursday, resulting in inconvenience to motorists.
The residents from Sonapur alleged that a black-topped road leading to their village was battered by movement of vehicles that transport loose soil to lay the national highway in 2021. They regretted that the road was not repaired despite submitting representations to officials several times.
The agitating residents wanted the officials to immediately repair the road. They cautioned that they would intensify the stir if the officials did not respond to their demand. They withdrew their protest when local police assured them of addressing their grievance at the earliest. Vehicles moving on the highway came to a grinding halt following the protest.
