Jangaon: A man’s clash with his wife over the preparation of a country chicken curry claimed his life in the district.
According to police, the deceased, Jangiti Ramesh (42) of Akkarajupalli village in Tarigoppula mandal, brought a country chicken home at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and asked his wife, Anusha, to cook it.
Anusha refused, stating that she had already cooked fish curry and would prepare the country chicken the next day. Ramesh then began verbally abusing his wife for refusing to cook the chicken. His son, Ganesh, intervened and asked why he was scolding his mother.
Ramesh started hurling invectives at his son as well and slapped him across the face in anger. Enraged, the son struck Ramesh on the head with a pestle. Ramesh collapsed on the spot, and locals rushed him to the Jangaon Area Hospital for treatment.
Doctors advised shifting him to MGM Hospital in Warangal for advanced treatment due to his critical condition. While undergoing treatment at MGM, his condition worsened, and doctors recommended shifting him to Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad for better medical care.
Ramesh died while being shifted to Hyderabad on Wednesday night. His body was sent for postmortem and later handed over to his family on Thursday. Local SI Sridevi said the police had registered a case based on a complaint filed by Ramesh’s brother, Srinivas, and were investigating the case.
