Cyberabad police solve IDA Bollaram murder case, arrest husband, contract killer

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police solved the mystery behind the murder of a woman reported at IDA Bollaram ten days ago and arrested two persons, including the husband of the victim and a hired killer, on Wednesday.

The arrested are Anil Kumar and a hired killer, Ranjan, a native of Bihar, while two other suspects, Rinku and Neeraj, are absconding.

According to the police, Anil was having some issues with his wife Mina Devi (36) and planned to eliminate her. Anil knew Rinku, a native of Bihar who had a criminal background, and struck a deal with him to kill his wife. He offered him Rs 2 lakh for killing Mina.

As per the plan, Rinku along with his two associates Ranjan and Neeraj, arrived in the city on May 29 and met Anil at IDA Bollaram. They discussed the plan to kill his wife Mina.

“On May 30 evening, Rinku, Ranjan and Neeraj waited at an isolated place on the outskirts of Gandigudam village. As per their plan, when Anil arrived on a bike along with his wife, the trio pounced on the woman and stabbed her repeatedly, leading to her death. When the woman was attacked, Anil escaped from the place and returned to the spot later,” said Cyberabad Commissioner, M Ramesh.

After the woman died, Anil cooked up a story and told the police that three persons had abducted his wife, sexually assaulted and later killed her. The police formed eight teams and, after thorough investigation, picked up Anil for questioning. On interrogation, Anil spilled the beans and admitted to having planned the murder and took the help of three hired killers from Bihar to execute it.

“Ranjan was arrested from West Champaran district of Bihar, while two others, Rinku and Neeraj, both of whom have a criminal history, are absconding,” said the Cyberabad CP.
