Tenant farmer ends life in Jagtial, debt burden suspected

Jagital: A tenant farmer, Manala Pedda Dubbaiah (60), died by suicide in Buggaram mandal on Tuesday, reportedly due to mounting debts and poor yield in the recent agricultural season.

According to police, Pedda Dubbaiah, a tenant farmer, had accumulated debts and was reportedly disheartened due to poor yield and a lack of remunerative prices. He was tense over the past few days and allegedly took the extreme step by consuming pesticides.


On Monday, he left home after informing family members that he was going to Jagtial and did not return that night. However, he was found dead on the Chandraiahpalli road on the outskirts of Buggaram on Tuesday.

On being informed, police visited the spot and registered a case. Investigation is underway.
