SR University confers Honorary Doctorate on Deepika Reddy

SR University celebrated its 4th Convocation in Warangal, awarding degrees to 1,500 graduates. Renowned Kuchipudi dancer and Padma Shri awardee Deepika Reddy received an Honorary Doctorate, while the university highlighted its academic achievements, research growth and global recognition.

Warangal: SR University, Warangal, celebrated its 4th Convocation ceremony with grandeur here on Tuesday, awarding degrees to as many as 1,500 graduates across various programmes offered by the university.

Internationally acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer and Padma Shri awardee Deepika Reddy was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of her contribution to preserving, promoting and popularising Indian classical dance, particularly Kuchipudi, at the national and international levels.


SR University Chancellor and Sri Rajeshwara Educational Society chairman A Varada Reddy presided over the ceremony, which was attended by IIT Delhi Director and Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize recipient Prof V Ramgopal Rao.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Deepak Garg presented the university report, highlighting its growth trajectory, academic advancements, research accomplishments, global partnerships and future vision for SR University.

He said the institution secured a place among the top 100 institutions in the NIRF rankings for four consecutive years, along with recognition in the THE World University Rankings 2026 (World University Rank: 801-1000; Computer Science Rank: 601-800; Engineering Rank: 601-800).
