The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad and neighbouring districts, warning of moderate rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds. Several parts of Telangana are expected to receive rainfall over the next few hours, with intense showers likely in some city areas

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, on Tuesday issued an alert for moderate rain and thundershowers in Hyderabad and nearby districts.
An orange alert has also been issued for the neighbouring districts of Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Vikarabad.
Over the next two to three hours, rainfall is expected in several other districts, including Nalgonda, Peddapalli, Rajanna-Sircilla, Medak, Kamareddy, Karimnagar and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad.
Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms is also likely in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jogulamba Gadwal, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Narayanpet, Suryapet, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts during the next two to three hours.
Several parts of Hyderabad, particularly the Uppal area, have already reported thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. Areas including Uppal, Nagole, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram and Malkajgiri are expected to receive intense rainfall over the next two to three hours.
