A Fast Track Special Court in Rangareddy district sentenced a 25-year-old bus driver to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 6,000 and awarded Rs 1 lakh as victim compensation.

Hyderabad: The Fast Track Special Court for the Expeditious Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Act Cases, Rangareddy district, on Monday convicted and sentenced a man involved in a sexual assault case to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
According to police, Meghavath Srikanth (25), a bus driver at Bandlaguda Bus Depot and resident of Anandnagar in Nagole, had sexually assaulted a minor girl after gaining her trust.
On a complaint by the girl, the police had registered a case. The trial court sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 6,000. The court further directed payment of Rs 1,00,000 as compensation for the victim.
