Mancherial: Kyathanpalli Municipal Commissioner A Maruti Prasad drew flak for not printing a photograph of chairperson Sandhyarani on a flex poster displayed at a meeting of councillors on Monday.
BRS leader Dr Raja Ramesh criticised the commissioner for omitting the photograph of Sandhyarani from the flex poster. He alleged that the commissioner had intentionally not included the image of the chairperson as she belonged to a weaker section. He suspected that the commissioner might have acted on the instructions of Labour Minister Dr G Vivek and Collector Kumar Deepak.
Ramesh further accused the commissioner of creating hurdles in developmental works being taken up in wards where councillors from the BRS-CPI alliance had registered victories. He said that Maruti Prasad was ignoring the instructions of the chairperson. He also alleged that the official was exerting pressure on contractors to complete works in wards represented by Congress councillors.
He stated that they would lodge a complaint with higher authorities against the commissioner for allegedly discriminating against Dalit elected representatives.
