Body of missing B-Tech student from Hyderabad found in a well in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: A missing B.Tech student case registered at Kacheguda Police Station has ended tragically, with the student’s body being traced to a well in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

According to police, Ankam Rahul, a native of Jagtial district and a B.Tech student residing at Lakshmikala Boys Hostel in Saidabad, was reported missing by his father, A Rajeswar.


Based on the complaint, Kacheguda Police registered a missing person case and launched an investigation.

Rahul was last seen on May 27 at Kacheguda Tourist Junction after getting off a friend’s motorcycle. He reportedly told his friend that he was going out with others before disappearing and his whereabouts remained unknown thereafter.

During the investigation, police examined multiple leads and pursued all possible angles. On the night of June 7, investigators received information that an unidentified body had been recovered from a well on May 30 within the jurisdiction of Singarayakonda Police Station in Prakasam district, where a separate case had already been registered.

Kacheguda Police said the personal belongings found with the deceased matched those of the missing student.

Based on the available evidence, the body is believed to be that of Rahul. However, authorities stated that DNA verification is still pending to conclusively establish the identity.

The information has been conveyed to the family members, and further investigation is on.
