Hyderabad: S Sai Teja was named Strong Man and S Vanisha emerged as the Strong Woman in the Telangana Open Medchal-Malkajgiri District Powerlifting Championship held at Fitness Plus Gym, Kukatpally, on Sunday.

In the men’s 52 kg category, Sai Teja delivered a remarkable performance, lifting 197.5 kg in the deadlift and 77.5 kg in the bench press to secure the championship title. Vanisha claimed victory in the teen girls’ 56 kg category by lifting 130 kg in the deadlift and 35 kg in the bench press.


M. Priyanka (54.5 kg category), G. Ravi Teja (106 kg), Nithun (81 kg), and D. Krishna (64 kg) also put up fine performances.

Krishna Rao, Gauthami, and Ravi Teja congratulated the winners, while cash awards of Rs 10,000 each were presented to Sai Teja and Vanisha.

Rekha, President of the WPC Telangana Powerlifting Association, distributed medals to the winners and applauded all participants for their dedication and sportsmanship.
