Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam on Friday condemned the alleged RSS attack on party national secretary Annie Raja and other leaders during the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest in New Delhi and called for branch-level demonstrations across Kerala in protest.
In a statement, Viswam said that the attack on Annie Raja, National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) general secretary Nisha Sidhu and other leaders while expressing solidarity with CJP activists protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against alleged examination irregularities was shocking.
Alleging that the Centre was attempting to suppress protests instead of acting against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the examination scam allegations, Viswam said such actions would not be forgiven by the people.
He urged all CPI branch units to organise protest demonstrations against the alleged attack on Annie Raja, Nisha Sidhu and other activists, the statement added.
The incident allegedly occurred during a protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, where hundreds of students and young professionals gathered, demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests.
