Hyderabad: A motorcycle registered reportedly in the name of the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) office has accumulated pending traffic challans worth Rs 2,450, according to details available on the Telangana Police e-Challan portal.
The vehicle, bearing registration number TS09PA6689, was booked on multiple occasions in Hyderabad for violations including riding without a helmet, stop line crossing, and wrong side driving between 2022 and 2024. The challans remain unpaid, as per the portal records.
The matter came to light when a citizen posted online, a recent helmet rule violation involving the bike on the road. It has sparked discussion on social media, with users questioning whether traffic rules are being enforced uniformly for government vehicles and police personnel as they are for the citizens.
