Sangareddy: Farmers staged a rasta-roko protest over the delay in paddy procurement at Nawabpet in Hathnoora mandal on Thursday. As the district has started receiving rains, the farmers demanded that the government procure all the paddy without any delay.
They blocked traffic on the Jogipet-Narsapur road near the Hathnoora Tahsildar’s office. The police brought the issue to the notice of the officials concerned and convinced the farmers to withdraw the protest.
