KTR, Harish Rao pay tributes to Telangana martyrs on State Formation Day

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday paid homage to the martyrs of the Telangana movement and extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day.

In a statement, Rama Rao called June 2 as the day Telangana was liberated from decades of discrimination, humiliation and oppression.


He said the sacrifices of martyrs and the struggle for self-respect culminated in the formation of the State, realising a 60-year aspiration for statehood.

He credited BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao with leading the movement to success.

He asserted that the BRS will continue its fight to protect Telangana’s identity and raise the issues of its people. He called upon the party cadres to rededicate themselves in public service and safeguard Telangana from treacherous forces.

Harish Rao said June 2 marked the fulfilment of the aspirations of four crore people and the triumph of Telangana’s self-respect.

He stated that Telangana was achieved under Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership and the collective struggle of all sections of society.

He said the State had emerged as a national model in welfare and development over the past decade and called upon people to remain committed to preserving Telangana’s identity and self-respect.
