Mancherial: The SCCL Srirampur Area Chief General Manager, Muniganti Srinivas, said that the unit recorded production of 3.16 lakh tonnes of coal against the monthly target of 5.47 lakh tonnes, achieving 58 percent of the target. He briefed media persons on the monthly performance of the unit in Srirampur on Monday.
Srinivas explained that underground mines such as RK 5, RK New Tech and SRP 1 recorded more than 100 percent coal production, while SRP 3 and RK 7 registered coal output of 96 percent. IK IA achieved 85 percent of the production target in May. Opencast mining projects at SRP and IK fared poorly due to certain challenges, including removal of overburden, he noted. He added that steps were being taken to improve the unit’s performance in the coming days.
Meanwhile, SCCL Mandamarri Area mined 1.22 lakh tonnes of coal against the target of 2.24 lakh tonnes set for May, achieving 55 percent of the target. However, Bellampalli Area registered coal production of 3.13 lakh tonnes against the monthly target of 3 lakh tonnes, achieving 113 percent of the target.
