Sunitha Lakshma Reddy slams Congress over paddy procurement delays in Medak

Medak: Narsapur MLA V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy accused the Congress government of completely ignoring the interests of farmers who were waiting at the procurement centres for days.

Speaking after participating in a protest at Kukunoor Junction after interacting with the farmers at the procurement centre, Sunitha said that the farmers will certainly teach a lesson to the Congress Party for mishandling the entire procurement process.

Demanding that the government send sufficient lorries, gunny bags and others needed at procurement centres, she demanded the government to purchase the paddy soaked in rain water at MSP, to save the farming fraternity. Exposing the Congress over its failed promises, the Narsapur MLA said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy came to power by assuring three instalments of rythu bharosa, but he could not give one instalment for a year.

She demanded Revanth to release the pending rythu bharosa of yasangi besides releasing the vanakalam instalment as well as the farmers preparing to take up agriculture operations.

Former Medak MLA Padma Devendar Reddy also visited the paddy procurement centres in Narsingi mandal and interacted with the farmers to know their issues. Padma exposed the failures of the Congress government in completing the procurement process before the onset of southwest monsoon. EOM
