Hyderabad: The Pet-Basheerabad police, who are investigating the POCSO case booked against Bandi Sai Bageerath, took him into three-day custody on Wednesday.
The Medchal-Malkajgiri court had recently granted custody for further investigation following his recent arrest after a nine-day high drama. As part of the custody procedure, Sai Bageerath was shifted from the Central Prison in Cherlapalli to the Medchal Government Hospital for a medical examination.
After the tests, police transported him to a farmhouse in Moinabad for scene reconstruction and questioning. The Special Investigation Team is expected to examine key aspects related to the case during the custody period.
The case was registered on May 8 after the mother of a minor girl lodged a complaint alleging that Bageerath sexually assaulted her daughter after allegedly luring her with a promise of marriage.
The complainant alleged that the girl was forced to consume alcohol during a New Year’s Eve gathering on December 31, 2025. The Pet-Basheerabad police, who first took up the formal investigation, later added more serious sections after recording the survivor’s statement.
Bageerath, who had been absconding for nearly nine days, was later arrested and jailed.
