Hyderabad: AIMIM party Nampally MLA Mohd Majid Hussain, along with SN Farhan, son of advocate Khaja Moizuddin, on Monday met Director General of Police CV Anand and Hyderabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar and demanded a fair and speedy investigation into the alleged murder of advocate Moizuddin.
The victim, Moizuddin, was mowed down by a car when he came out of his residence on Saturday morning. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Nampally police had registered a case of criminal conspiracy and murder. A few persons, including Mehboob Alam Khan and Mujahid Alam Khan, were questioned by the police after Farhan, son of advocate Moizuddin, raised suspicion over their involvement in the murder of his father.
The police investigation so far has revealed that it was a pre-planned murder and hired assassins were roped in to eliminate Moizuddin. The gang had reportedly been keeping a close watch on his movements for quite some time. The deal was struck for around Rs 10 lakh and other benefits, including legal expenditure, were also assured to the gang, sources said.
The police had picked up one person, Vijay, who had previously owned the car. He is also being questioned and a few teams have fanned out to different cities in search of the other suspects involved in the case. It is learnt that around seven persons were actively involved in the case.
Moizuddin was fighting cases pertaining to five Waqf institutions managed by Mehboob Alam Khan and other directors of the institutions. Disputes had allegedly arisen between the victim and Mehboob Alam Khan over the management of the institutions. Farhan said that his father was actively trying to protect the Waqf institutions and was targeted multiple times and asked to stay away.
