Telangana allows failed SSC students since 2015 to appear for supplementary exams

Hyderabad: In a major relief to students, the Education department has allowed candidates who failed SSC Public Examinations in the last one decade to reappear for backlog subjects and clear them in the forthcoming SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations in June 2026.

This special provision is applicable to candidates who failed Class X exams under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern from 2015 onwards. Such candidates have to apply to the Directorate of Government Examinations.

Generally, students who appeared for the SSC Public Examinations held in March are eligible to sit for the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations.

“Every year, we receive requests from candidates who did not clear Class X exams in March to appear for supplementary exams. This time, the government permitted all candidates who failed since 2015 to appear for the supplementary exams in June,” a senior official said.

The department directed district educational officers to take necessary steps to allow candidates who failed SSC Public Examinations from 2015 onwards to appear for the supplementary exams.

“Applications can be submitted to the directorate up to one day prior to the exam date,” the official said. Candidates with backlogs prior to the introduction of the CCE pattern must complete their Class X exams through the Telangana Open School Society.

Meanwhile, the Class X supplementary exams are scheduled to be held from June 5 to 12. The exams will begin with first language on June 5, followed by second language on June 6, English on June 7, Mathematics on June 8, Physical Science on June 9, Biological Science on June 10, Social Studies and OSSC Main Language Paper-I on June 11, and OSSC Main Language Paper-II on June 12.

Except for Physical Science and Biological Science subjects, which will be held from 9.30 am to 11 am, all other exams will be conducted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
