KTR alleges Congress giving POCSO case accused a free pass

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao took a dig at the Congress government for allegedly shielding Bandi Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay, in the ongoing POCSO case. He said the accused had been absconding for over a week while the State administration looked the other way.

In a post on the social media platform X, Rama Rao said the Congress government was neglecting its duty by refusing to fight for the victim in court and allegedly protecting the accused instead.

BRS leader Manne Krishank also criticised the State’s legal representation during the court hearing, citing what he described as a telling disparity. Of the total hearing duration of 45 minutes and 28 seconds, the defence counsel argued for over 39 minutes, while the government public prosecutor spoke for just 29 seconds. He said the prosecution’s near silence in court indicated the Congress government’s lack of seriousness in pursuing the case.
