KTR takes swipe at BJP, Congress over POCSO case and crime statistics

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the BJP of adopting double standards in the handling of the POCSO case involving Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay’s son Bhageerath.

Referring to the BJP’s “One Nation-One Tax” and “One Nation-One Election” slogans, Rama Rao said the ruling party sought uniformity in all matters except when protecting their kith and kin. He remarked that while there was one POCSO Act, the BJP appeared to have adopted two standards which is one for a Union Minister’s son and another for ordinary citizens.

The BRS working president’s barb at the BJP came alongside a broadside at the Congress government in Telangana. He said under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy holds the distinction of being the sitting Chief Minister with facing the most criminal cases in the country, Telangana recorded the highest rate of crimes against women and cybercrime cases in the country.

“Well done, Rahul Gandhi Ji. Telangana is indeed rising,” he added.
