Hyderabad: IFTU-led protest outside Pet-Basheerabad police station demands arrest of Bandi Bageerath

Tension prevailed outside Pet-Basheerabad police station after IFTU-led women’s organisations protested demanding arrest of Bandi Bageerath in a sexual assault case. Protesters also sought action against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, prompting police to detain several participants.

Hyderabad: IFTU-led protest outside Pet-Basheerabad police station demands arrest of Bandi Bageerath

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed for some time outside the Pet-Basheerabad police station on Wednesday after women leaders of the IFTU staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of Bandi Bageerath, son of Union Minister for State (Home) Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

The protesters also demanded that Bandi Sanjay be removed from his Union minister post.


Leaders from IFTU, along with members of PDSU and POW women’s organisations, joined the demonstration in front of the police station.

The protestors condemned the sexual assault of a minor girl allegedly by Bageerath. They demanded strict action and immediate arrest of Bageerath.

As the situation turned tense, police detained several protesters and shifted them from the spot.
