Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, two brothers drowned while allegedly taking a bath in a lake at Kowkuru in Jawaharnagar on Sunday, leaving their family in deep grief on Mother’s Day.
The victims were identified as Akula Mohan (34), a driver, and his younger brother Akula Krishna (32), residents of Adarsh Nagar in Jawaharnagar.
Mohan was living separately with his wife and three children, while Krishna had been staying with his parents for the past six months following disputes with his wife.
According to the police, family members said Krishna had told his mother that he would return home shortly after going for a haircut on Sunday afternoon. Later, both brothers went to Kowkuru lake for a bath. Despite not knowing swimming, they entered the water and accidentally slipped into a deep portion of the lake, leading to the tragedy.
Locals who noticed the incident alerted the police. DRF personnel and police teams rushed to the spot and launched a search operation for recovering the bodies from the lake.
Case is under investigation.
