Hyderabad: Several property owners of Madhu Park Ridge (MPR), whose properties are to be affected by land acquisition for Gandhi Sarovar Project linked to the Musi Riverfront Development, on Sunday took part in a Musi Dandi march from MPR Apartments, Bandlaguda, to Parade Ground, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive public meeting.

The protesters decided to submit a formal representation to the Prime Minister through the Telangana BJP State President, N Ramchander Rao.

The march was held mainly to oppose the displacement of their residential apartments for the Gandhi Sarovar Project, said Giri Babu, one of the property owners of Madhu Park Ridge.

The representation raised concerns regarding the ongoing Musi Riverfront Development Project, including issues relating to displacement, environmental impact, institutional land diversion, lack of adequate social and environmental scrutiny, and the rights of affected residents. The protesters wore attire with images of Mahatma Gandhi leading the historic Dandi March.
