BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar arrested

Karimanagar: BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar was taken into custody as he prepared to step out of his house to enforce the bandh call here on Saturday. The BRS had called for a Karimnagar bandh in protest against the BJP’s attack on the Karimnagar MLA camp office. Earlier, Kamalakar was placed under house arrest in the morning.

While he was preparing to take part in the bandh, police arrested him at his residence and shifted him to the City Police Training Centre. Enraged over the incident, BRS activists led by town president Challa Harishankar burnt an effigy of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar at Court Chowk. Police rushed to the spot and took the agitating BRS workers into custody before shifting them to the police station.
