Cyberabad police drug test 128 rowdy sheeters, 11 test positive

Hyderabad: In a crackdown on substance abuse, the Cyberabad Police carried out a special drug-testing drive on identified rowdy sheeters across the commissionerate, and of the 128 individuals, 11 tested positive.

The operation conducted on Tuesday was led by enforcement teams in coordination with law and order units.


According to officials, a total of 128 individuals with a history of offences were tested during the drive. Of them, 11 tested positive for ganja consumption, while the remaining 117 were found negative.

Zone-wise data revealed that Serilingampally recorded the highest number of positive cases at six out of 44 tested. In Quthbullapur, four out of 59 tested positive, while Kukatpally reported one positive case among 25 individuals screened.

Police officials said legal action has been initiated against those who tested positive. In addition, counseling and monitoring measures will be implemented where necessary to prevent repeat offences.
