Boath MLA Anil demands support to farmers in Adilabad

Adilabad: Boath MLA Anil Jadhav demanded that the government extend all support to farmers whose standing maize and jowar crops were damaged due to electrical short-circuits in different parts of the district in recent times. Along with officials, he toured Kangutta village in Boath mandal to console affected farmers on Tuesday.

Anil advised farmers not to be disheartened by the crop damage caused by short-circuits. He vowed to stand by the farmers affected by the accidents. He said it was unfortunate that around 40 acres of standing crops were burnt due to the short-circuits. He wanted the government to provide compensation to the farmers after conducting a survey of the damage.


Officials said that jowar crop spread across 26 acres belonging to 12 farmers and maize crop spread across 20 acres belonging to seven farmers were damaged in several parts of the region. Besides, 500 pipes and 250 sprinklers were also damaged. They stated that efforts were on to release compensation to the farmers at the earliest.
