A three-day youth drama festival will be held at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad from May 6. Organised by the Telangana Sangeet Natak Akademi, the event will feature nine plays daily, with free entry for all attendees.

Hyderabad: A three-day youth drama festival will be held at Ravindra Bharati from May 6 under the auspices of Telangana Government Sangeet Natak Akademi, said chairperson, Dr Alekhya Punjala. During the three-day festival, nine plays would be staged from 5.30 pm.
On May 6, Telugu University students will present ‘Dimbhaka Rajyam’ street drama written by Patrikeya under the direction of Dr Kotla Hanumantha Rao, followed by Sirisiri Muvva cultural artists presenting a social play written and directed by Manjunadh, while Navakranti Cultural Association artists will perform ‘Sri Mahishasura Mardhini Padya’ play by M Arjuna Rao.
On May 7, Nishumbhita, Osmania University student artistes will be directed by Dr Ram Holagundi for ‘Nishahi Nishi’, followed by Karimnagar Chaitanya Bharathi artists directed by Ramesh Manchala for ‘Swapnam Ralchina Amritham Natika’, and finally, under the direction of Indira Devi, artists of Sangareddy will perform ‘Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa’.
May 8 will have ‘Mayajalam.com’ street play by Darpan theater artist Ali Ahmed, ‘Amma Chekkina Bomma’ by Jyotiraj Bheeshetti, directed by Venkat Gowada and ‘Yayati Padya’ play by Madhira Khammam Sumitra Youth Association, directed by Dr Nibhanupudi Subbaraju. Dr Alekhya Punjala said the entry to drama festivals organised for the youth is free.
