Hyderabad: Thailand’s famous lantern festival is coming to Hyderabad and the city is about to light up like never before. The Story Time Society is set to host The Lantern Festival on May 9, 2026, bringing a globally inspired experience to the city.
Known for its roots in Thailand’s iconic lantern festival, the event recreates the magic of glowing night skies filled with floating lanterns.
The festival will take place at Via Moka, Shankarpalli Road, Hyderabad, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The evening will feature music, food, lights and immersive experiences designed to bring people together.
The highlight of the night will be the lantern release, where hundreds of glowing lanterns rise into the sky, creating a breathtaking visual moment. As they float upward, the night sky transforms into a moving canvas of light, symbolising hope, reflection and new beginnings.
Along with this, the event will include live performances, Bollywood and Tollywood jam sessions, curated food stalls and interactive zones that add to the festive atmosphere.
Visitors can choose from multiple seating options, including cozy mattress and cushion seating near the stage for a more relaxed experience, as well as regular chair seating areas for comfort.
Tickets are priced at Rs 849 per person, while children below 10 years can enter free, making it a family-friendly event.
