Hyderabad: A couple, Gaddam Triveni and Mastan Rao from Bhoiguda in Secunderabad, who underwent infertility treatment, was blessed with twins, a boy and a girl, at the State-run IVF facility at Gandhi Hospital.

The couple, who earn their livelihood as agricultural labourers, had undergone several fertility treatments over the last decade while trying to have children. They underwent 13 cycles of ovulation induction and an Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) procedure at various private clinics.

Exhausted by repeated failures and the rising costs of private care, the couple eventually approached the specialised IVF centre at Gandhi Hospital.

While IVF treatments in private fertility clinics typically range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, the entire procedure at Gandhi Hospital, including diagnosis, IVF cycles, prenatal care, and delivery, was provided free of cost.

The medical team, led by IVF Centre Head Dr T Shobha and Hospital Superintendent Dr Vani, confirmed that both the mother and the newborns are in stable and healthy condition.
