The Regional Passport Office in Hyderabad will conduct a special passport drive on May 9, releasing 4,000 appointment slots to manage summer demand. The initiative aims to reduce waiting times and improve access to passport services across five PSKs.

Hyderabad RPO to hold special passport drive on May 9

Hyderabad: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Hyderabad, is conducting a special passport drive on May 9 to clear the summer rush and speed up the processing of passport-related applications.

Regional Passport Officer J Snehaja on Tuesday said 4,000 online slots would be released by today evening, and applicants can log on to www.passportindia.gov.in to book appointments. The special drive will be held at all five PSKs at Begumpet, MGBS Metro, Raidurg, Karimnagar and Nizamabad, said RPO.


While 3,100 online slots will be for 3 PSKs in Hyderabad, another 900 online slots will be released in Nizamabad and Karimnagar PSKs. The current appointment cycle at the five PSKs was 8 to 10 days and the special drive will bring it down to 5 to 7 days.

The RPO said e-Chip-enabled passports were being issued continuously, and existing old passports would remain valid until their tenure was completed.
