India’s U-17 men’s team played out a 1-1 draw with Qatar in a closed-door friendly in Doha, with Denny Singh scoring. The match is part of preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Hyderabad: The Indian Under-17 men’s team drew 1-1 with Qatar in the first of two closed-door friendlies on Sunday night at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Denny Singh Wangkhem opened the scoring for the Blue Colts in the 67th minute before the hosts equalised in the 82nd.


The second friendly between the two sides will be played on April 28 at 21:30 IST.

The friendly matches are part of India and Qatar’s preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026.

India will take on Australia (May 6), Uzbekistan (May 10) and DPR Korea (May 13) in Group D in Jeddah.
