BRS working president KT Rama Rao welcomed the High Court’s stay on Justice PC Ghose Commission report, calling it political vendetta by the Congress government, defending Kaleshwaram project, urging focus on farmers’ irrigation needs and criticising alleged misuse of institutions

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday welcomed the High Court’s stay on the Justice PC Ghose Commission report, calling it a tight slap in the face of the Congress government and its alleged conspiracies of political vendetta. He condemned any attempts to deprive rightful share of Telangana in Godavari River water and push the State’s farmers into crisis.
In a statement, Rama Rao said the court’s directive barring any action based on the report, had exposed the misuse of institutions for political purposes. He reiterated the BRS stand that the report was politically motivated, and said the verdict validated concerns raised earlier by party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao over violations of natural justice during the inquiry.
“The judgment affirms that constitutional institutions cannot be misused for narrow political gains,” he said, adding that the ruling had effectively halted the government’s conspiracies against the Kaleshwaram project.
The BRS working president demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy apologise to farmers, for neglecting the Kaleshwaram project for over two years. “The verdict proved that the judiciary will not remain mute spectator over misuse of institutions for political purposes against the Constitution and law,” he said.
Calling it the lifeline of Telangana, he urged the government to prioritise immediate repairs to the Medigadda barrage. He reiterated that the report was not prepared by Justice PC Ghose Commission, but by the State Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC).
Rama Rao suggested that the government abandon conspiracies and propaganda, and instead, address farmers’ concerns. He warned against any attempt to compromise Telangana’s irrigation interests. He asserted that the BRS will continue to stand with farmers and press for the restoration and effective utilisation of irrigation infrastructure across the State.
