Sangareddy: The victims of the blast at Sigachi Industries submitted a representation to Additional Collector R Pandu, demanding the immediate release of compensation. Accompanied by representatives of Telangana People Joint Action Committee (TPJAC), the kin of 54 deceased and injured persons met the Additional Collector during the grievance day at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Monday.
Responding to their complaint, Pandu said that the district administration will ensure that the injured get treatment, apart from the payment of their salaries until they fully recover. However, the Additional Collector’s response to their demand for releasing Rs one crore compensation left the victims baffled.
The officer said that they will ask the management to release the compensation after the High Court verdict. The kin of the victims also demanded that officials exclude PF, insurance and ESI benefits, which they are entitled to post-retirement, from the Rs one crore compensation. They have threatened to continue their protests until the government ensures justice for them.
