Hyderabad: KVBR Indoor Stadium scored a thrilling 60-53 win over Trinity Basketball Promotions after leading 27-23 at half-time in the BM John Vinayasager basketball tournament here on Monday.
The match started with Krishna of KVBR scoring through a fast break. However, Ayush of Trinity scored a 3-pointer to take the lead. The match went neck and neck. With 6 seconds left, Revanth scored a drive-in to take KVBR to 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter too, both the teams matched basket to basket as KVBR increased their lead to 27-23 at half-time. After the change of ends, Ayan and Swabhav of Trinity played in tandem to take back the lead. However, it was short-lived as Krishna and Revanth scored two quick baskets, and Dharani scored a 3-pointer to close the third quarter at 44-38.
In the last quarter, Trinity tried hard for a comeback. However, Dharani of KVBR was unstoppable as he scored 14 of the 16 points made by KVBR in the fourth quarter to take the match 60-53.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Mr B M John Vinayasager, along with his family members.
