Protest erupts in Patancheru over ZP High School land dispute
Telangana Vidya Parirakshana Committee is taking out rally in Patancheru demanding protection of government school land on Wednesday.

Sangareddy: Telangana Vidya Parirakshana Committee (TVPC) has urged the government to protect the Zilla Parishad High School land in Patancheru in view of the recent demolition of the dilapidated building and boundary of the school on April 7.

The TVPC and the alumni members of the school organised a protest at Freedom Park in Patancheru on Wednesday. Later, they went to a rally on NH-65 to MRO office, where they staged a protest before presenting a representation to Patancheru MRO.

Speaking on the occasion, TPVC co-founder and former school teacher Y Ashok Kumar said the school was shifted to primary school premises some 13 years ago since the old building was dilapidated. Some people have filed a case in the court claiming the land as their own, as the land remained vacant for a while. However, he said that the officials have built a boundary wall around the land by obtaining permission from Supreme Court. Ashok Kumar demanded that the government retain an efficient Supreme Court lawyer to fight the case.

He asked the government to build a modern government school building on the 2.20 acres of premier land. Since 9 guntas of land were already encroached by the erection of some huts by encroachers, Kumar asked the government to remove the encroachments. As the officials prepared a report terming the demolition work carried out by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), he accused the official machinery of acting favourably with the encroachers. BJP MLC C Anji Reddy also sought stern action against the encroachments. Former Sangareddy MLA Satyanarayana and others were present.
